J Littles, Kong The Artisan - FURTHERMORE

“J Littles and I had taken a short break after writing and releasing his first album “Massa” in August 2024. (Massa is a beautifully rich, vibrant and heartfelt record in which Jordan pours out songs of family, overcoming, love and hope in a truly uplifting way. Perhaps in a way that can only really be successfully achieved on an artist’s debut, where risks are innocently taken with nothing to lose).

We both knew that we needed time to let Massa sit; to take stock of our creative process and make sure that any future work felt like a step forward and showcased development.

Jordan became busy working as tour manager for a popular artist and was spending a lot of time driving up and down motorways, sitting in airports or on planes. He was constantly travelling, sound checking huge venues and firefighting last minute touring issues. But things started to slow down in December 2024 and I could tell he was happy to be home in Nottingham, spending time with his daughter.

I was feeling inspired to write for him again and I could tell he was ready to go. Things definitely felt different this time round; Massa had been a very organic record, where the ideas and songs had flowed easily. But this time, Jordan was writing nearly most of his lyrics ON THE SPOT in the studio and then recording in the same session (engineered by the indispensable Andy Zoutr). It wasn’t just confidence and bravado - he was still rapping with the same sincerity and vulnerability, weaving in experiences garnered from Massa and touring. It had just become second nature.

Thank you to all the artists who sprang into action with features (in order of appearance): Velvet Elvis, Skyzoo, Blak Twang, Verb T, Wish Master, Evelyn and Sarah Love.

We wrote and recorded everything in 6 weeks and the result is: “FURTHERMORE”.
