NAHreally, baelei - If I Pay My Mind No Mind

In my TAPE era I kept things brief. 8 tracks or fewer, 15 minutes or less. baelei—under a different moniker at the time—was one of only a few producers willing to sell me beats. Songs like “Bearshitpope,” “Not A Whole Lot,” and “Rap Like I Act Like” (to name a few) remain personal favorites. The tapes dropped when they were done with no singles or planned rollout. It was a period of throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks and finding out if I could actually make something worth listening to. Sometimes I want to go back…

So I did.

‘If I Pay My Mind No Mind’ was nearly called TAPE 6, and, while I’m leaving that naming convention in the past, it essentially is. baelei sent the beat pack, I picked 5, called on some friends for features, and now it’s in your hands. 5 tracks, 12 minutes. I hope you like it.
