PAAVO, RockSolid - Turmoil

Going into this album the excitement was really surrounding the production and being able to mix new music using new techniques I was learning. Early 2024 Burnt Bakarak had the folks over at Common and normal provide their skills to Remixing tracks from the “Eyes of Ice” album.

Listening to that album I found myself amazed at the way this collection of producers were able to make the already baked tracks into brand new sounds. Through this I reached out to RockSolid and complemented his ability to sequence the beat to add emphasis were it was needed. RockSolid Columbus Ohio based producer has been providing his punchy and aggressive beat style to several compilations and remix projects for the Common and Normal Record label. His collection of new and vintage machines gives him access to a toolkit that most producers would be lost in the weeds with. RockSolid has the ability to hear a sound he is looking for and finding the best way to sculpt it. From those conversations grew this album.

Turmoil has been definitely the word for the past year watching several friends and family deal with everyday situations. Some a grain a sand to others huge boulders but each equal in weight. Within those struggles most folks find their strength or could expose weakness in character. All is what makes us human. That conflict is what makes me feel alive.
