The project draws inspiration from Philadelphia’s historic Uptown Theater, a significant venue in the city’s music scene during the 1960s and 1970s. The theater hosted numerous R&B and soul artists and played a pivotal role in the cultural landscape of North Philadelphia and Soul Music overall. The project’s narrative and themes are similar to Reese’s previous work, such as “SLANG POETRY”, “UPTOWN THEATER” showcases his talent for blending urban storytelling with imaginative concepts, but In Real Time.
