Teller Bank$, Crambone - No Sympathy 4 Dead Men

Sometimes the internet is just a terrible place to be. I posted last night on my twitter:

ā€œMaking music 100% by yourself at all times is not fun. Thereā€™s not many feelings worse than recording/producing something amazing and playing it back for an empty room. I donā€™t even have an engineer, itā€™s literally just me in here every day.ā€

The responses I got varied- everything from people going the whole 9 yards to my bandcamp page and purchasing my music, to making ignorant assumptions about my character, insulting my art and telling me i lack skill/drive/passion etc.. but for every negative or snarky comment there was 2 artists that felt just like me.

A producer named Crambone responded to my tweet saying:

ā€œWhen my health started fading mfkas straight disappeared. Now it feels like something I do to just pass the time till I die. Shits depressingā€

That really stuck with me. Here I was feeling really low in the moment and normally I try to save face and be tough or funny but I just allowed myself to be vulnerable and express how I was actually feeling. Something about this particular reply stuck with me so I sent him a message like ā€˜yo if you got any beats you wanna get out there send em my wayā€ and he did. I ended up recording on three joints- I went back and checked his bio on Twitter to see where he was from and I learned heā€™s a dad thatā€™s currently living with ALS. Heā€™d been producing for like 30 years and was recently feeling so discouraged he was thinking about selling his equipment.

Man.

Itā€™s like sometimes what you think is for you is really for everybody. That thing you feel that youā€™re afraid to say needs to be said.
It takes a lot to be vulnerable and to admit you need something or somebody- in that moment we both did. Thereā€™s no way to know how either of our stories go if I had been been too embarrassed to reach out, even if it was just into the abyss of the often terrible internet.

I ended up recording a 3 song EP over the beats he sent me - I told him I was going to release it tomorrow to all yā€™all and we could split the money 50/50 whatever itā€™s end up being- (he told me to keep it all but I donā€™t think he knows I have one the best musical communities and some the best supporters that exist anywhere so Iā€™m definitely going to give him his 50 lmao)

It would mean a lot to me of yā€™all supported this one. Donā€™t feel obligated to pay anything for it if you donā€™t have it, but if you do good music is valuable and can make legitimately make the world a better place for all of us.

Thank you always
